I started EyeofHorus1 more than 4 years ago on Instagram when I was suffering lingering health issues, resulting from two bouts with cancer. I was traveling more than 100k miles a year, at that time, and had significant flight-time on my hands for inner reflection. I have always been interested in spirituality and symbolism, but my illness forced me even further inward. It became an imperative to explore the big questions of existence. Where do we come from? What is the nature of the universe? What is the purpose of life? Is there a higher power? If so, what is the nature of God?
I am a Data Scientist and am used to exploring difficult, time consuming, business questions, but the true Mysteries of Existence don't have clear answers. The true objects of spirituality are unseen, and lie outside of the visible universe; outside of our ability to observe and analyze. So, how do we explore these enigmas? For as long as man has existed, we have asked these same questions, and our thoughts on their answers have spawned thousands of religions and spiritual traditions. While the objects of spirituality are unseen, they must still have some basis in reality for us to grasp them.
In all of my research, I found only one dogma that truly resonated with me "As Above, So Below". It is the essence of the Hermetic Philosophy, which manifested out of Hellenistic Egypt, but it is also seen in numerous other traditions, such as Hinduism. The visible is a reflection, and an emanation of the invisible. We can't directly know the invisible, but we can learn about it from what we can observe in the Universe. I use the term 'Spiritual Science' for the exploration of this quest.
